01 · Overview
The BurdaGP Game Jam takes place on 21–22 October 2026 at Valencia Base 2, Valencia, Spain, alongside VDS (Valencia Digital Summit). It is organised by Burda Principal Investments and powered by TUM Venture Labs.
The goal is simple: Think it. Build it. Play it. Teams make a playable game during the jam and share it with the organisers and other participants.
02 · Who can take part
- Only the team leader signs up on Luma. The team leader signs up on Luma on behalf of the team; team members do not sign up separately.
- Participants work in teams of 3 to 5 people. Teams smaller than 3 or larger than 5 are not eligible.
- Each team names one team leader, who is the organisers' point of contact.
- A person can be part of one team only.
- Only the team leader submits the form. One person per team fills in the submission form; team members do not submit separately.
03 · Platform and build
- PC, Windows only. Your game must run on a Windows PC.
- Keyboard and mouse. The game must be fully playable with a keyboard and mouse.
- Any engine or development platform is allowed, including Unity, Unreal, Godot, Roblox Studio and web-based engines.
- You submit a playable build, not a prototype description or a video. Judges and players must be able to play your game.
- Keep it within the spirit of the jam: no hateful, discriminatory or illegal content.
04 · Made during the jam
- The game itself must be created during the jam, by your team. Do not bring a game you built beforehand.
- Do not submit someone else's work as your own.
05 · Tools, assets and AI
- Teams can use existing engines, libraries, plugins, templates, assets and AI tools.
- Credit and mark everything external. Any external asset (art, music, sound, fonts, code, templates, plugins) and any use of AI must be credited and clearly marked, on your itch.io page and in your repository.
- For AI, say which tool you used and what it produced (for example code, art, music, text), so judges and players can tell what was made how.
- Only use assets you have the right to use.
- You remain responsible for everything in your submission, including AI-generated material.
06 · Categories
- To be considered for a specific category (for example custom art), the relevant work must be developed by the team itself during the jam.
07 · How to submit
Your team leader submits the game on the submission page. You will need:
- Team name
- Team leader's name and email address
- The URL of your GitHub repository
- The URL of your itch.io page
Submit before the deadline announced by the organisers. If you need to correct something, submit again: the latest submission for your team is the one that counts.
Make sure the GitHub repository can be opened by the organisers (public, or shared with them) and that your itch.io page is reachable without a password when you submit. The playable Windows build must be available from that itch.io page (a download or a browser version that runs on a Windows PC). If your game runs on another platform, such as Roblox, explain on the itch.io page how to play it.
The credits and AI notes from section 05 belong on the same itch.io page.
08 · Judging
- Submitted games are reviewed by the organisers and any judges they appoint.
- Judging criteria and any awards will be communicated by the organisers.
- The organisers' decisions are final.
09 · Code of conduct
- Be respectful to participants, organisers, partners and venue staff.
- No harassment, discrimination or intimidation of any kind.
- Follow the venue's and VDS's house rules and safety instructions.
- The organisers may remove participants or disqualify teams that break these rules.
10 · Changes to these rules
The organisers may update these rules before or during the jam. The version on this page is the current one.
